TWMA shortlisted for Offshore Achievement Awards 2017

Environmental solutions provider, TWMA, has been shortlisted in the Environmental Innovation category at this year’s Offshore Achievement Awards.

The shortlisting recognises the company’s Slop Treatment Plant which changes the way in which drilling waste is disposed of, in line with tight regulations, and can provide operators with substantial cost savings.

The plant is based at TWMA’s Peterhead site, the company’s primary UK onsite treatment facility, which also provides state-of-the-art TCC RotoMill thermal treatment technology for drilling waste processing.

Marlene Mitchell, sales director at TWMA, said: “We are delighted to be nominated for this prestigious industry award, which is testament to the hard work of our whole team and our commitment to developing environmentally sound solutions. Our slops plant is the first of its kind in the world and is designed to offer a technology that not only treats waste but also recovers the by-products for disposal, recycling or re-use.”

TWMA has enjoyed previous success at the Offshore Achievement Awards having won the Export Achievement accolade in 2016, in recognition of the company’s significant business growth.

Ms Mitchell continued: “Treatment and disposal of slops can be costly and complex but our unique system offers a flexible and sustainable solution to the challenges faced by the industry during drilling operations. Being shortlisted as a finalist once again is a fantastic achievement for the team and we look forward to showcasing the capabilities of our Peterhead facility on the night.”

Now in its 31st year, the Offshore Achievement Awards is the largest and longest established industry awards for the UK offshore energy sector. Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday March 23, at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
