Deloitte has announced the latest winners of its UK’s Best Managed Companies 2026 programme with two Scottish businesses recognised.

An initiative of Deloitte Private, the UK's Best Managed Companies programme shines a spotlight on private businesses from across the UK and the performance that drives them.

Business services firm Murgitroyd, headquartered in Glasgow, and global people development company Insights, headquartered in Dundee, are among 19 winners from across the UK.

Ten companies are new to the list this year, while nine have retained their place, including both Scottish firms.

Murgitroyd is a global intellectual property firm that advises clients across life sciences, engineering and technology. Insights delivers people development solutions to organisations around the world, with its work rooted in psychometric tools and learning experiences.

Now in its second year in the UK, the programme is already established in more than 45 geographies across the world and recognises top private companies for their organisational success, as well as wider contributions to their industry and the economy.

Paul Hazelton, partner at Deloitte, said: "For both Scottish companies that have retained their place in our list it is a reflection on their commitment to high standards of governance, management and entrepreneurial spirit. They continue to display best-in-class services in their respective fields.

"In this role, I see the breadth of talent and resilience that we have in the Scottish business community. Private Businesses such as those recognised this year, continue to play a vital role in our economy. They demonstrate innovation, idea generation, resilience and ambition, and help to drive growth and prosperity.”

The Best Managed Companies awards programme applies an evaluation process to assess the quality of business management across a range of areas, including strategy, capabilities and innovation, culture and commitment, as well as governance and finance.

Entrants undergo a rigorous and independent process, with their business strategy and operations benchmarked against an evaluation framework applied to a winner community of more than 1,300 best-managed private companies across the world.
