A new co-working hub is set to open on Aberdeen's Union Street in August after a £250,000 investment to transform the long-vacant upper floors of the former Bravissimo store.

Union Worx will provide 12 flexible office suites alongside shared meeting and event space.

Co-director Rob Aberdein said: “They can grow with us, so they can go from unit to unit, and as they grow they can hop next door into a bigger space.

“We also give them the flexibility of short-term leases and fixed monthly costs, which a lot of growing businesses, I think, find advantageous.”

Looking ahead, he added: “Despite Aberdeen’s challenging economic circumstances and the ongoing difficulties with oil and gas being taken out of the North Sea, we’re hopeful that there is an ability to turn the local economy around.

“In that environment, Aberdeen will inevitably need office space, particularly when so much of it has been converted back to residential or demolished.”
