Speaking about his election, he said: “I am honoured, and particularly proud as a graduate of the University, to have been elected as Senior Governor of the University's Court. I look forward to being a strong ambassador for staff, students and alumni, as well as an advocate for the University and higher education in Scotland.”
Christopher will take up the role on 2 December 2026 subject to Court, in accordance with the requirement in the Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Act 2016, formally approving the appointment at its meeting of that same date.
