The Home Office has signalled to employers and advisers that they plan to increase their focus on sponsor compliance through audits and spot checks. They have already decided to triple civil penalties for employing illegal workers and this has created a stir amongst those responsible for compliance.
Ultimately, the Authorising Officer (AO) has a personal responsibility for the smooth running of the sponsor licence and many AOs have a wider responsibility to ensure prevention of illegal working compliance.
Following feedback from clients, Vialto Partners has formed the Authorising Officer Academy to provide a forum for AOs and global mobility and immigration colleagues to meet, receive training on UK immigration issues and discuss sponsor compliance best practice.
Meeting quarterly via an online webinar for an hour, the aim is to ensure that you are audit-ready and they will also:
- Provide industry insight into the best practice approach to UK immigration and mobility
- Discuss case studies and practical solutions
- Share global immigration trends
