VisitAberdeenshire has launched ‘Destination Delicious’, a promotional campaign to attract visitors to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, highlighting the region’s bountiful larder of food and drink.

The campaign will run from 23 February to mid-March, encouraging visits to the region from Easter until early summer, and is the latest initiative to drive the growth of the North-east visitor economy. The value of tourism in the region was measured at nearly £1.3billion in 2024, with awareness of the North-east as a holiday destination continuing to rise, driven by VisitAberdeenshire campaigns that promote great reasons to not only visit, but to spend more time here exploring deeper, and leaving happier.

Chris Foy, CEO, VisitAberdeenshire said: “From our survey results we know that three in four prospective visitors love to taste and experience local food and drink when they go away, and that those who engage with our campaigns strongly perceive our regional fare to be of the highest quality.”

The campaign’s headline partner is Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline that makes air travel simple, enjoyable and sustainable. This collaboration will extend the reach of the campaign to prospective visitors from North-west England and the West Midlands who are a short, comfortable flight away from Aberdeen.

Lyn MacDonald, Director of Marketing, Communications and Product at Loganair, said: “We’re delighted to partner with VisitAberdeenshire once again on the ‘Destination Delicious’ campaign. As the largest airline at Aberdeen Airport, a key base for our operations, we’re proud to help connect more visitors with the outstanding food and drink experiences the North-east has to offer.”

Supporting partner, Fettercairn Distillery has been producing distinctive Highland Single Malts at the heart of the Mearns community for over 200 years. Their insightful distillery tour and stylish tasting room provide a unique taste of Aberdeenshire.

Thom Watt, Brand Controller at Fettercairn Distillery said: “At Fettercairn we're passionate believers in the produce of our local area. It's a constant source of inspiration for us when we're creating our whisky, and one of the best ways to understand the culture and history of Aberdeenshire. We're absolutely delighted to be supporting the Destination Delicious campaign."

Mr Foy continued: “From a seafood lunch in Pennan to sumptuous feast in Deeside via a food and drink tour of Aberdeen, the North-east truly is ‘destination delicious’”
