A new edition of the West End Farmer’s Market at Queen’s Cross will take place this Sunday 3 September from 10 am until 1 pm in the gardens of Fountainhall at the Cross (formerly known as Queen’s Cross, Albyn Place), next to Cognito at the Cross.

As the end of the summer gets closer, this will be the very last edition of the market this year. Following the huge success of public and sellers in 2023, the West End Farmer’s Market plans to resume its activity in Spring 2024.

Born to get local products to the residents’ doorstep every first Sunday of the month during the Spring and Summer months, the outdoor Farmer’s Market at Queen’s Cross has brought thousands of visitors to the West End of Aberdeen. The Market has been a fantastic addition to an already bustling area of Aberdeen - both with the congregation attending church on a Sunday and customers attending the cafe at Cognito at the Cross.

With this initiative, Fountainhall at the Cross (formerly Queen’s Cross, in Albyn Place) and Queen’s Cross & Harlaw Community Council aimed to bring a real community attraction for all and to help smaller, local, independent businesses bring their products direct to the market. The number of stall holders and public has steadily grown over the last months, offering a rich and wide variety of locally sourced products from fresh fish and wild venison to bread and artisan cakes.

This is the last chance to enjoy the market this year and make a fun day out of it, with a tea, coffee or lunch at Cognito at the Cross and a visit to the halls that the venue Fountainhall at the Cross (formerly Queen’s Cross) has available to hire for formal and informal gatherings. Equipped with the latest AV technology, Fountainhall at the Cross can accommodate events from 4 people up to 350 people such as concerts, AGMs, training days and workshops. Fountainhall at the Cross hirers can also benefit from the hospitality services of Cognito at the Cross, the onsite café. For more information about the halls, contact Marina Vega on mvega@fountainhallchurch.org.uk , visit www.fountainhallchruch.org.uk or www.facebook.com/fountainhallchurch.
