Aberdeen has come alive with the sound of clinking glasses as Whisky Week Aberdeen returns for its second year, running 21-31 August 2025.

For ten days, the city’s top whisky bars and venues will transform into a whisky lover’s playground. With drams starting from just £3 - and every venue offering at least one for £5 or less - festival-goers can build their own whisky trail, discover hidden gems, and enjoy rare releases without ever leaving the Granite City.

Armed with a Whisky Week wristband and guidebook, explorers can hit the streets well equipped, ticking off drams, and soaking up Aberdeen’s rich whisky culture. Beyond the bars, this year’s programme features four headline events not to be missed:

  • Explore Aberdeen’s Distilling Past - A three-hour guided walking tour uncovering the city’s (mostly illicit) whisky history, with four drams and tasting notes along the way. Hosted by Fraser Campbell. Learn more

  • Whisky Week Quiz - Test your knowledge, enjoy a dram, and be in with the chance of winning the grand prize. No ticket required. Learn more

  • Whisky & Beer Pairing with Fierce Beer - Five drams from Chivas, Glenlivet and Aberlour matched with five locally brewed Fierce beers, hosted by Chivas Regal Global Brand Ambassador, Sam Alexander. Learn more

  • Aberdeen Maritime History & Walking Tour - Explore the city’s links to the Cutty Sark with stops at the Maritime Museum, Provost Skene’s House and the Art Gallery. Includes drams of Cutty Sark Original, Prohibition and 12 Year Old, plus a cocktail finale. Hosted by Ryan Way. Learn more

Whisky Week is designed for both seasoned whisky fans and newcomers. Similar to Whisky there’s no “right way” to enjoy the festival - whether it’s your first dram or your fiftieth, it’s about exploring whisky your way, at your own pace.

Tickets and wristbands are available now at whiskyweek.co.uk/aberdeen use code “AGCC” for 25% off all ticket tiers.

About Whisky Week
Whisky Week is a city-wide whisky festival designed to bring people back into bars and make whisky more accessible, exciting, and social. Rather than a traditional single-venue event, Whisky Week takes place across multiple bars in each host city, with each bar paired with a distillery or brand to offer exclusive whisky menus, tastings, and events.

Attendees purchase a wristband, which unlocks access to £5 or less drams, rare and limited pours, whisky-themed experiences, and a printed guidebook to explore the city and record their feedback one dram at a time.

Whisky Week started in Aberdeen in 2024 and celebrates both the heritage of Scotch whisky and the vibrant bar scene in each city - creating a festival that’s perfect for newcomers, seasoned sippers, and everyone in between.
