Thousands of visitors are expected to descend on the award-winning Macdonald Aviemore Resort as the popular Highland holiday destination prepares for another bumper festive season.
The world-famous Red Hot Chilli Pipers will help ring in the bells on Hogmanay for the second year in a row. The legendary bagpipe band – renowned for its fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock/pop anthems – will headline the Osprey Arena, while guests indulge in a four-course gourmet feast before a spectacular fireworks display and ceilidh.
Throughout November and December, guests of all ages can enjoy an abundance of fun-filled activities – with everything from private dining and themed party nights to ice skating and luxury retail available on-site at Spey Valley Shopping.
Located in the heart of the Cairngorms, Aviemore has become synonymous with snow and winter pursuits over the past 50 years. This year has seen exceptional demand for the resort’s festive events, particularly its Santa Breaks and Family Christmas Breaks where children can meet Santa in his grotto and interact with the UK’s only free-range reindeer herd.
The resort also boasts an indoor children’s play area, cinema, and its own highly experienced entertainment team who are responsible for delivering a programme of fun events, including this year’s pantomime production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
The full line-up of experiences can be viewed and booked on the resort website or by emailing specialevents.aviemore@macdonald-hotels.co.uk.
Gareth Bevan, managing director at Macdonald Aviemore Resort, commented: “Christmas is such a wonderful time in hospitality and nowhere is that more evident than here in Aviemore. Our team takes enormous pride in helping guests create special memories for all the family, while taking away the stress of planning their holiday celebrations.
“With thousands of visitors arriving over the coming weeks, we are looking forward to showcasing all that the resort and the surrounding area has to offer. There is truly something for everyone, regardless of age, including several returning favourites that help make the resort such a magical place at this time of year.
“I’m particularly excited to welcome the Red Hot Chilli Pipers back for a second year as we celebrate Hogmanay in style with what is sure to be another iconic live performance, further underling the resort’s reputation as a holiday destination of choice.”
