Women in Tech Aberdeen will host their next event, “Inclusion in AI,” featuring Steph Wright, Head of the Scottish AI Alliance exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping Scottish society and the wider tech landscape.

This thought-provoking session will take place on Wednesday, 29th October, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at ONE Tech Hub, Aberdeen.

As AI continues to evolve at an extraordinary pace, understanding its potential, challenges, and impact has never been more important. Steph Wright, who leads the delivery of Scotland’s AI Strategy, will offer a unique perspective on how AI is driving change across industries - from healthcare to public services - and what this means for technology professionals in Scotland.

Steph Wright brings an impressive background that spans astrophysics, data science, and leadership in national AI initiatives. As Head of the Scottish AI Alliance, she plays a key role in ensuring that Scotland’s approach to artificial intelligence remains ethical, inclusive, and human-centric. Her deep experience and engaging approach make her one of the country’s most compelling voices on the future of AI.

Jana Vidis, committee member of Women in Tech Aberdeen, shared: “AI is influencing every corner of our lives, and this event is about helping our community understand not just the technology, but the opportunities and responsibilities that come with it.”

Attendees can expect:

  • Insightful discussion on Scotland’s national approach to AI and its societal implications.
  • A look at real-world applications of AI, particularly in healthcare and data science.
  • Opportunities to engage with local tech professionals and build meaningful connections.
  • Light refreshments and networking in an inclusive, welcoming environment.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in technology, whether an AI expert, a tech professional exploring new trends, or simply curious about how AI is shaping our world. In line with Women in Tech Aberdeen’s mission to support women and underrepresented groups in the North East’s tech community, all are warmly welcome to attend.

Caroline Laurenson, fellow committee member, added: “We’re delighted to host Steph Wright - a leading voice in Scotland’s AI movement, and to continue creating spaces where knowledge, inspiration, and community come together.”

Registration is now open, and spaces are limited - early booking is encouraged for what promises to be an enlightening and engaging evening.
