For golfers, winning the greatest Major of them all, The Open Championship, is their biggest dream. Leading golfers from around the globe will all tell you that their lifelong ambition is to play in The Open and their ultimate dream is to lift the Claret Jug on the Sunday afternoon. It is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after prizes in the sporting world.
Likewise, business owners will tell you their dream is to work with the highest profile clients that are unmistakeably leaders in their field. So, it’s not surprising that Spectrum are delighted to announce they’ve won The Open Championship. Not once, but three times. Yes, Spectrum has been appointed to provide cleaning solutions at Royal Portrush (2019), Royal St George’s (2020) and at the ‘Home of Golf’ in St Andrews (2021).
Winning The Open takes years of dedication. For many, they will have to win one of the many regional qualifying events hosted around the World prior to the final qualifying events hosted immediately before the event – it’s a long and very competitive road to make the final starting group of players who tee it up on the Thursday morning.
Winning The Open contract is no different, we have proven our ability at other events; the Ryder Cup Matches at Gleneagles, several Scottish Opens, the British Masters, the RICOH British Women’s Open Championship and the Senior Open Championship have enabled us to hone our skills and earn an invitation to tender.
Like any business, winning a competitive tender is especially satisfying; Sepctrum Services Solutions competed against other businesses, presented their expertise and experience and won the prize.
Sepctrum Services Solutions are truly delighted to be working with The R&A and The Open Championship to deliver outstanding, clean and safe Championships. They will be providing a wide range of services at each event which will include: cleaning of marquees, toilets and onsite offices, as well as window cleaning services.
The R&A are the organisers of The Open, golf’s oldest and most international championship which marks a highlight in the golfing calendar. Spectrum is delighted to be a part of such an iconic event, whilst contributing to the economic benefits on a local and national level.
