Wood organises event to support Armed Forces community

Veterans, reservists, adult cadet volunteers and service family members play a vital role in many of the teams at Wood.

Come along to a free event organised by Wood and supported by ChamberForce to find out how businesses can all join forces to support the Armed Forces community.

Hear from the following speakers:

  • Bob MacDonald, Wood's STS CEO and executive sponsor of Wood's Armed Forces Network on the business benefits of tapping into this key talent pool and how it aligns with our culture and business strategy.
  • Malcom Norman, Wood’s chief information security officer and Louise MacDonald, Wood’s diversity and inclusion manager on how Wood delivers on its Armed Forces covenant
  • Niall Raeper, Wood’s intergration governance lead and army reserve officer with the Aberdeen University Officers’ Training Corps on what being a reservist entails and how he balances this whilst working at Wood.
  • Ian Clark and Paul Barrett, founders of IED Training on their story of friendship in the Royal Marines, insights into life in the military, the challenges of transitioning into civilian life and the importance of teamwork and resilience.

There will be a chance to ask any questions and an informal networking opportunity.

The free event takes place on Thursday, March 21 from 2 - 4pm at Sir Ian Wood House, Hareness Road, Aberdeen, AB12 3LE.
