Premier Coaches and Luxe Scot have officially commenced development on their new depot, marking a significant milestone in the companies’ long term growth strategy.
Groundworks and steel framework construction are now underway, signalling the transition from planning to tangible progress on site.
The project represents an investment of approximately £1.8million. While the current economic climate - characterised by rising costs across construction, materials and operations - may seem an unusual time to embark on such a substantial venture, both companies view the move as a necessary and forward thinking step. The new depot is intended to improve our carbon footprint, strengthen operational efficiency, support fleet expansion and position the businesses more competitively for the future.
Alan Findlater, Director, said: “With Premier Coaches turning 16 this year and Luxe Scot turning 4, we have maxed out our current facility for space. As we continue to grow, we want to improve facilities for our staff and create a comfortable, professional environment that supports their development too. We will continue to invest in our fleet in 2026 and 2027, with 6 vehicles due to be delivered this year, representing a further £700,000 investment, and an additional 4 vehicles planned for 2027. Our growth must continue while we build our new premises, strengthening our commitment to the North-east.”
Construction is expected to take at least 12 months to complete, with current projections indicating that the new premises will be fully operational by May 2027. While timelines may be influenced by external factors, progress so far reflects a strong commitment to delivering the project on schedule.
As work continues, the new depot stands as a clear statement of intent: an investment not only in facilities, but in the future direction and resilience of both companies.
