What are businesses actually experiencing as the energy transition gathers pace? Are companies investing with confidence? Are skills and recruitment becoming easier or harder? Are current government policies and regulations helping or holding businesses back? And what needs to change to unlock the next phase of growth?
These are some of the questions being explored through the 44th Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce Energy Transition Survey, sponsored by Johnston Carmichael and D2Zero, and we need businesses across the North-east to tell us what is happening on the ground.
For more than 20 years, the survey has provided an independent evidence base on the health and direction of the region’s energy sector. Its findings are used to support the Chamber’s engagement with government, policymakers and other decision-makers, helping ensure that the experiences and priorities of businesses are reflected in discussions about the UK’s energy future.
This matters particularly now. Energy policy is evolving rapidly, with decisions around taxation, regulation, investment, energy security and the transition to lower-carbon energy likely to have long-term implications for businesses, workers and communities.
