Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce and RSM are pleased to present this Digital, Technology and AI Business Breakfast, sponsored by Lancia Consult and Elementz.
Artificial intelligence is moving rapidly from experimentation to application, reshaping how businesses operate, compete and make decisions. Across sectors, organisations are adopting AI to improve productivity, enhance customer experience and unlock new sources of value.
This breakfast will explore how businesses are practically adopting AI today, the impact it is already having on operations and performance, and where the greatest opportunities — and risks — now lie.
Through expert insight and real-world examples, the discussion will examine how leaders are approaching AI strategy, governance and workforce readiness, as well as the implications for skills, investment and competitiveness.
The session will also look ahead, considering how AI adoption is likely to accelerate, what this means for businesses of different sizes, and how organisations can position themselves to benefit from rapid technological change rather than be disrupted by it.
Speakers:
Christophe Theys is the Global Head of AI, Data & Analytics for DHL Supply Chain, where he leads the company’s AI, data and analytics agenda with the mission of scaling these capabilities across the organisation. A passionate advocate for data and technology, he has held several international IT leadership roles throughout his career.
At DHL Supply Chain, Christophe has been the primary driver behind building the company’s global AI, data and analytics capabilities from the ground up – establishing the team, operating model and strategy that now support AI and data innovation worldwide. His team’s work has been recognised with Global CIO Awards for Generative AI and Data Ecosystems, as well as several patents in related fields. He was also named a “Vordenker” (Thought Leader) by Handelsblatt, a recognition he credits to the collective progress of teams across the business.
Christophe’s expertise spans the full breadth of AI and data functions, including product management, data architecture and engineering, data science, AI engineering and ML‑Ops, and data and AI governance. On April 29th in Aberdeen, he will share practical insights drawn from real-world implementation – focusing on how organisations can cut through the hype and build scalable, trustworthy AI capabilities that deliver lasting value.
With 20 years of experience across SaaS, digital, and technology-led businesses, Lewis is Chief Growth Officer at Elementz, where he leads the company’s global commercial strategy and market expansion. Operating at the intersection of industrial expertise and advanced technology, he is focused on scaling solutions that unlock smarter, safer and more efficient operations across complex energy environments.
A key part of Lewis’ remit is driving the adoption of applied AI within the subsea domain through Tide Breaker - Elementz’ AI accelerator programme, designed to fast-track field-ready AI into real-world operations. The programme bridges the gap between emerging technology and industrial deployment, empowering start-ups with access to critical data, domain expertise and infrastructure, while enabling operators to confidently adopt trusted, high-impact AI solutions that deliver measurable value.
Lewis brings hands-on experience in building and scaling digital capabilities globally. He has established commercial digital oilfield services across APAC, lead product at an AI start-up, and directing digital transformation through a biotech company's IPO. This blend of operational delivery and innovation gives him a pragmatic perspective on what it takes to move AI from concept to deployment, particularly in highly regulated, asset-intensive industries.
With a strong international track record and a focus on long-term value creation, Lewis continues to champion a data-driven future where AI plays a central role in transforming how industries operate, collaborate and evolve.
