2018 Business Golf League to help local charity

Entries are now open for the 2018 DF Communications Business Golf League which is due to tee off in April.

Last year’s winners SKN Electrical, who are expected to defend their title, have nominated Cash For Kids as this year’s charity. At least 36 teams are expected to sign up for the league.

DF Communications, an award-winning mobile phone and communications specialist to small, medium and large businesses, is the organiser of the league for a seventh consecutive year.

Craig Forsyth, sales director at Aberdeen-based DF Communications, said: “The event is an ideal opportunity to meet other businesses, network and play golf. There’s been a great deal of interest this year and we’re confident the league will have another successful year.”

The Business Golf League is played in a fourball format with teams split into groups. The winners and runners-up from each division then qualify for the finals day held at a course yet to be announced.

Last year the finals were held over the Castle Course at St Andrews in September. A launch event, where the first round of matches were played, was staged at Trump International Golf Links in April.

Teams of between two and four named players enter the league. Last year’s tournament was won by Trevor Mackie and Kevin Norrie, of SKN’s Aberdeen operation. As a result of the league, £1,000 was raised for last year’s nominated charity, Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children (SNAC).
