Bon Accord Training is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone as Carol marks 34 years with the business, reflecting a career defined by dedication, leadership and an unwavering commitment to people.
Carol joined the family business in 1992 as an office junior, beginning what would become a lifelong passion for the transport and training industry. Bon Accord Training was founded in 1986 by her dad, Brian, following a career deeply rooted in training. Drawing on his experience in the Army and working with several training companies, Brian had seen first-hand both what worked well and what didn’t.
Believing the time was right to do things his own way, Brian established Bon Accord Training with a clear vision and strong core values: quality, integrity and care. His aim was simple but powerful - to ensure customers genuinely benefited from the service and support provided.
Over the years, Carol continued to work hard, gaining extensive experience and a deep understanding of every aspect of the business and in 2004, she was appointed Director - a role in which she has since played a pivotal part in guiding Bon Accord Training through decades of change, growth and challenge.
Known for her calm approach, positivity and genuine care for others, Carol has consistently ensured that people and customers remain at the heart of the business. Her leadership style has fostered a supportive, motivated workforce and long-standing client relationships, contributing significantly to the company’s continued success.
Operating within a traditionally male-dominated industry, Carol’s achievements stand as a powerful example of inclusive, people-focused leadership and throughout her career, Bon Accord Training has supported and trained more than 102,000 candidates, positively impacting individuals and businesses across the industry. Reflecting on this, Brian shares how proud he feels knowing just how many people and organisations have benefited from the service and support the company has provided over the years.
One of Carol’s proudest achievements is the exceptional retention of both staff and customers for over 30 years - a rare accomplishment in today’s business environment. This loyalty is a testament to the culture she has helped create and her belief that successful businesses are built by valuing people, investing in relationships and maintaining high standards.
For Brian, watching his daughter take the business forward has been particularly meaningful. Employing Carol, he says, was one of the best decisions he ever made. Seeing her develop into a leader and now step into a wider role fills him with immense pride, and he is confident she will continue to succeed.
With the coming together of the wider Rizon Group, Carol has recently taken on the role of Business Support Director for the full Rizon team. In this position, she continues to provide supportive, people-focused leadership, helping to drive momentum and shape an exciting future as the business moves forward under the Rizon name.
As Bon Accord Training enters its next chapter as part of Rizon, Brian is proud to see the business he founded continue to grow and evolve under Carol’s leadership - carrying forward the family values while embracing new opportunities for growth and development.
As Bon Accord Training celebrates Carol’s 34 years with the company, it recognises not only her professional achievements, but also the positive influence she has had on colleagues, clients and learners alike.
Bon Accord Training thanks Carol, for 34 outstanding years of leadership, care and dedication.
