Specialist digital-first marketing agency, AB Fiftyone, has been shortlisted in the Creative and Media Entrepreneur of the Year category at the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2025 for Scotland.
At a time of significant transition for the energy sector, AB Fiftyone is helping energy companies communicate more clearly, confidently, and effectively online. The shortlist recognises this work and comes as founder Pamela Miller marks ten years since launching the business following redundancy during the 2015 oil and gas downturn.
What began as a consultancy built around flexibility while raising a young family has evolved into a specialist agency supporting energy businesses across the UK and internationally. Over the last two years, AB Fiftyone has transitioned from a solo consultancy into a growing agency model, with ambitions to become one of the energy sector's most recognised marketing partners.
For Pamela, the shortlist is more than an award nomination.
"When you've built something from the ground up, recognition like this feels like validation," said Pamela Miller, founder of AB Fiftyone. "Ten years ago, I never imagined I'd be running an agency. What started out as a way to create a career that worked around family life has evolved into something much bigger. To be recognised by the Great British Entrepreneur Awards as we celebrate our tenth year in business feels incredibly special and gives me real confidence in where we're heading next."
Founded in 2015 following redundancy during the oil and gas downturn, AB Fiftyone began as a consultancy before evolving into a specialist digital-first agency helping energy businesses become easier to discover, understand, trust and choose.
Pamela continued: "As strange as it might sound, I would tell my 2015 self that this would turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to me, I just did not know it yet. Trust the process and trust your instinct. Entrepreneurship was never part of the plan, but building AB Fiftyone has given me opportunities, flexibility and a sense of purpose I could never have imagined at the time."
As AB Fiftyone enters its tenth year, the business remains focused on its mission to change how energy companies communicate online, with plans to expand internationally and launch new platforms that create fresh opportunities for storytelling, connection, and visibility across the energy sector.
The winners of the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be announced later this year.
