Aberdeen advisor achieves prestigious fellowship status

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has awarded the prestigious Fellowship status to Shona MacAskill, chartered financial planner of Gary Walker & Co Wealth Management, one of Aberdeen’s leading wealth management companies.

Fellowship of the CII is regarded as the premier qualification for those working in the insurance or finance industry. The CII’s title chartered financial planner is a widely accepted ‘gold standard’ qualification for professional financial planners in the United Kingdom. Acquiring FCII accreditation further demonstrates knowledge, experience and professionalism. Shona achieved Chartered status in 2017, an exclusive title only awarded to individuals that meet rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability. All chartered financial planners commit to the CII’s Code of Ethics.

Shona MacAskill says that securing Fellowship status was a landmark for her personally, “I have always prided myself on being thoroughly professional in everything I do and to receive external recognition in this way is very gratifying. As a chartered financial planner and fellow of the Chartered Institute, this further cements my commitment to the highest levels of service to my clients.”

Gary Walker, managing director and founder of Gary Walker & Co Wealth Management – a senior partner practice in St. James’s Place Wealth Management, says, ‘As a practice we are committed to reinforcing the highest standards of professional practice in our business dealings with clients. Shona epitomizes this, and prides herself on building long term relationships with both individuals and business owners.’
