Aberdeen Performing Arts named winner at national PR awards

Aberdeen Performing Arts has won a national PR award following the re-opening of Aberdeen’s Music Hall.

The Music Hall Stepping In campaign, was carried out in conjunction with the BIG Partnership in the lead up to the re-opening of the Music Hall in December last year following a three year, £9m restoration project, was named outright winner in the Arts, Culture or Sport category in a ceremony at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu Hotel on Thursday, October 3.

The campaign promoted the re-opening of the Music Hall, and was designed to create a buzz and excitement around the venue for the Stepping In Day – a day-long programme of free community-focussed events and performances.

The CIPR Scotland PRide Awards are hosted annually, and is the biggest PR awards dinner outside of London, as well as a highlight of the Scottish social calendar.

Aberdeen Performing Arts director of marketing and Communications Leah Hodder said: “We are so proud of our team for their achievements, and we are delighted to accept this award along with The BIG Partnership. The Music Hall restoration project was a huge undertaking for Aberdeen Performing Arts, and we are immensely proud of what we achieved. We loved working with the BIG Partnership on this campaign, and we are so grateful for their invaluable support throughout. Winning this award really demonstrates the value of PR to the wider business world.”

The award completes a hat-trick of wins for Aberdeen Performing Arts following the Northern Star Business Awards, where the company were recognised in the Business of the Year with CEO Jane Spiers being given the Lifetime Achievement award.
