Despite the success of its online Open Day events over the last two years, Aberdeen RNLI is excited to welcome visitors to the station on Sunday, August 21, 2022.
After two years without face-to-face events, Aberdeen lifeboat station is delighted to open its doors to the public again for its Annual Open Day 2022. This special day is an historical event for Aberdeen lifeboat station where the doors open to the public, including children.
This family-filled, educational day allows local supporters the opportunity to see Aberdeen’s lifeboats - an all-weather lifeboat and inshore lifeboat - and meet the crew, operations team and fundraisers.
Over the five-hour event, there will be tours of the lifeboats, a BBQ, lifeboat teas, the RNLI’s Stormy Stan mascot and a variety of fundraising stalls, including a tombola and the sale of RNLI souvenirs – all of which aid in supporting our crew to continue to save lives at sea.
Donald Montgomery, Chair of the Aberdeen RNLI Fundraising Group, said: “Our annual open day is a well-attended event where we’re able to welcome our wonderful supporters to the lifeboat station. We have lots of crew on hand to show people around the station and boats or to answer any questions that supporters may have about the voluntary work we do on the Aberdeen coast. It’s certainly not one to be missed!”
