Aberdeen travel agents have already noticed a lift in business - within hours of Scotland qualifying for the World Cup.

Scotland qualified for their first World Cup since '98 on Tuesday with a dramatic 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden Park.

The fixtures and corresponding venues are still to be confirmed for the tournament - jointly hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico - but that hasn't put off excited fans getting ahead of the game and booking their trips early.

The Press and Journal reports Steven Stuart, Aberdeen’s Ramsay World Travel branch manager, said his store has already had hundreds of enquiries.

He told the P&J: “I would then recommend people book early to get the best prices and locations.

“Hopefully we get favourable cities that are easy to get to and we hope the airlines are fair as well."

Lisa Kemp, manager of Barrhead Travel in Aberdeen’s Union Square, said the branch was "already seeing demand" for World Cup trips.
