Colleagues from Aberdeen-based Add Energy Asset and Integrity Management (AIM) were honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of achieving outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales over the last three years at a Buckingham Palace ceremony on Tuesday, June 11.

The company, which employs 130 in its offices in Aberdeen, Houston and Muscat, provides consultancy and software solutions which optimise asset performance including oil and gas, power generation and chemicals.

It is a division of Stavanger-headquartered Add Energy which provides consultancy and software solutions to the global energy sector.

Peter Adam, executive vice president of Add Energy AIM, said: “I’m honoured to receive this award on behalf of our teams around the globe. They have worked incredibly hard to achieve impressive international growth for the business. This is a fantastic way for them to be recognised.”

Winners from this year’s prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise were recognised at a reception hosted on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

Many of the 201 winners and their guests were able to meet The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Beatrice at the reception.

Having won a Queen’s Award in April, more than 200 businesses, including 151 small and medium enterprises and 6 double award winners, will receive a Grant of Appointment (an official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy from their local Lord-Lieutenant on behalf of Her Majesty.

The Awards, now in its 53rd year, are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, with companies from across the UK recognised for their contribution in four categories: international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.

Previous international trade business winners have seen a 73% boost to their international sales and worldwide recognition

Small business minister Kelly Tolhurst said: “The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise acknowledge outstanding achievement in British business and I was delighted to see the winners recognised by The Prince of Wales.

“The event shone a light on the incredible work of businesses across the country and I was impressed to see the wealth of talent and innovation represented at Buckingham Palace. It is a fitting honour for the sheer hard work and determination it takes to start and run a successful business. Our modern Industrial Strategy champions businesses across the country – and a prestigious Queen’s Award will be the envy of many them.”
