
World Karate and Kickboxing Commission (WKC) is set to return to AECC in 2019
World Karate and Kickboxing Commission (WKC) is set to return to AECC on Sunday, May 5, 2019 bringing competitors from across the world to the North-east to compete with the very best at the Aberdeen Open Tournament.
WKC are committed to make the Aberdeen Open the biggest and best with competitor and spectator experience at high importance, the Aberdeen Open is a truly international event with the world’s best Martial Artists. Kickboxing teams from Canada and USA are among the 1,000 competitors which will compete at the event.
Attracting a major sporting event has today been welcomed by AECC.
Louise Stewart, head of entertainment at AECC/TECA commented: “We are delighted to welcome back WKC to the North-east of Scotland, and the vast amount of competitors from all over the world who have already signed up is outstanding. Attracting a major sporting event to the North-east, is something we look forward to continuing to bring to our new venue The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) which opens next summer and brings the very best of live experiences.”
TECA is Scotland’s brand new, state-of-the-art events venue. The event complex is being delivered by Aberdeen City Council in partnership with Henry Boot Developments, replaces AECC with 48,000 square metres of world-class multi-purpose event space.
General tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, December 21, 2018.
