Community is key at Albyn School and it has been great to see all the many and varied parts of the Albyn community come back together again in person over the past few months.
In adjusting to the challenges of lockdown, regulation changes and frequent adjustments to ‘normal’ operations, the School’s values really were being lived every day - and it showed. Pupils and staff embraced the ever-changing restrictions that were put in place while displaying huge amounts of resilience. The lockdowns brought pupils, staff, parents, former pupils and friends of the school closer together to support and be kind to one another strengthening the already fantastic bonds within the community.
New pupils joined the nurseries, and lower and upper schools at various different stages of the pandemic, in person and virtually, some of them never having set foot in the School buildings before. There was an enormous amount of trust placed in the school so it was important that prospective parents and pupils were given the confidence and assurance that they had selected the right learning environment. Once restrictions started to lessen and the building started to slowly open back up last year, it quickly became clear to those parents that they had made the right decision choosing Albyn School.
With in-person open mornings, former pupil reunions, pupil taster sessions, as well as this year’s marvellous musical offering, The Sound of Music, taking place next week, the school really is back in action. The sense of pride in the school that existed before and during the lockdowns is stronger than ever and has created an even bigger burst of Albyn community spirit. You don’t even need to step through the door to feel the instant sense of togetherness – as each morning since returning from lockdown the senior management team has welcomed every pupil on the front steps. For pupils and the senior management team alike this is a highlight of their day.
Do come and visit this friendly, happy and highly successful school to see how your child could thrive.
