The Peterhead Seafood Supplier’s bestselling Scampi becomes ‘multi-award-winning’ after success at National Food and Hospitality awards.

The company’s Panko Breaded Single Wholetail Scampi, known fondly as ‘Amity Scampi’ has emerged triumphant at The Scotsman Scran Awards.

The award-winning Scottish seafood supplier, based in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire was nominated alongside Isle of Mull Seaweed and Croft 36 in the Fish and Seafood Product category.

Of the win, the judges said: “Foodies will appreciate the provenance of Amity’s Peterhead produce, and the care that has gone into creating a delicious scampi from Scotland’s world-famous langoustine”.

The inaugural Scotsman Scran Awards, in partnership with Benriach Speyside Scottish Whisky, recognise Scotland’s flourishing dining, drinking and hospitality sector shortlist across 16 categories.

Over 200 attendees from across the industry attended the event in Glasgow on June 19th to celebrate the very best in Scotland and recognise the vital role that this sector plays in the economic success and profile of the country.

Amity Managing Director Jimmy Buchan was delighted to take home the win for the team, for his product which was inspired by and developed through his extensive experience in the fishing industry:

The win rises Amity Scampi to ‘multi-award-winning’ status. The product currently also holds a Great Taste Star rating from the Guild of Fine Foods signifying it’s taste as ‘simply delicious’.
