AGCC members Aberdeen International Associates and Aodhan Consultancy are running a trade visit to Guyana for companies interested in learning more about the market, identifying opportunities for their goods and services, and engaging with key stakeholders in-country.

The visit will run from Monday September 28 to Thursday October 1 to coincide with the British Airways service to Georgetown from London Gatwick. The programme of meetings and site visits will be designed to enable participants to engage with IOCs, leading contractors, Government representatives, leading Guyanese Business Support organisations as well as identify potential local partners.

The early bird rate of £3,500 plus VAT is available until Friday July 24 and companies are encouraged to book their slot as soon as possible. Accommodation (three nights, including breakfast) at the Jewelz Hotel and most on-ground transportation are included within the mission fee.

The team at Aberdeen International Associates have coordinated 14 trade visits to Guyana since 2017 which has provided them with an extensive network in the region.

Managing Director Neil McIntosh explained: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Aodhan on this exciting initiative to help fellow AGCC members and the wider Scottish energy sector supply chain access relevant opportunities in the world’s fastest growing economy.

“Identifying new export markets is becoming increasingly important to companies that have been traditionally focused on the North Sea and many will have been following the Guyana story.

“This visit will provide the supply chain with insights into ongoing developments, connections with key players, and identify routes to market for their goods and services including prospective local partners.”

Owner of Aodhan Consultancy Greg Quinn OBE is the former British High Commissioner to Guyana and retains a significant network in the region.

He said: “We are happy to be working with our friends at AIA on this visit to Guyana - the poster country for oil and gas exploration.  But there is so much more to Guyana than this.

“A desire to ensure diversification of energy supplies and production with a long-term view mean that there are significant opportunities for Scottish companies to build partnerships and business across a range of areas.”
