AquaTerra Training, a leading provider of practical health and safety training based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, is proud to announce that IED Training Solutions Ltd (IED) has joined its growing group of training providers.
This marks a significant step forward in expanding the group's specialist training offering. It brings together complementary expertise to deliver a broader, more impactful range of training to organisations in industries where performance, compliance and safety are critical.
Following AquaTerra Training’s recent merger with Bon Accord Training and the acquisition of a 50% share of Polaris Learning, the addition of IED further enhances the group’s position as a leader in tailored training that empowers, inspires and drives long-term growth and operational success. Together, the group now employs 43 people and delivers training to more than 12,000 delegates each year.
Founded in 2015 by Managing Director Ian Clark, IED Training Solutions is based in Arbroath. The company supports both organisations and individuals through a wide range of specialist courses focused on leadership, health and safety, Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) and workplace resilience. Ian, a former Royal Marine, brings decades of operational experience to the group. His team includes former uniformed personnel who bring valuable frontline experiences to their consultancy and training services.

IED is an ISO9001 accredited training provider, offering courses certified by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). They work with a diverse client base including MVV Environment, Tayside Contracts, John Clark Motor Group, National Express Bus & Coach and numerous Local Authorities. IED’s strong background in leadership, Trauma Risk Management and resilience training brings a unique dimension to the group. This is particularly valuable for sectors where human performance and decision-making under pressure are critical. Their health, wellbeing, and resilience workshops are particularly valued in high-pressure industries such as transport, construction and emergency services.
Ian Clark, managing director of IED, said: “Since day one, our mission has been to improve how people lead, communicate and respond under pressure. Joining a group of training providers who share our values and high standards, not only strengthens this but allows us to support even more companies with an expanded portfolio of services that’s both practical and purpose-driven.”
Charlie Cameron, managing director of AquaTerra Training commented: “We’re delighted to join forces with IED Training Solutions, who share our passion for high-quality, relevant training. This partnership will strengthen our combined ability to offer a more comprehensive, joined-up approach to training that meets today’s industry challenges head-on.”
The training group now brings together AquaTerra Training, Bon Accord Training, Polaris Learning and IED Training Solutions. Each brings industry expertise and complementary services. United by shared values and a focus on practical learning, the group is committed to delivering training that drives confidence, resilience and a highly skilled workforce in challenging environments.
