Local charity Archway is looking for a handful of brave – or perhaps slightly mad – cyclists to take on one of Scotland's most iconic cycling challenges this summer.
The charity supports almost 200 children and adults with learning disabilities, complex health needs and associated physical and sensory impairments. Through respite care, supported living and outreach services, the charity helps people build independence, enjoy new experiences, develop friendships and get the most out of life, while also providing vital support to families and carers.
It has secured five charity places for Ride The North, which takes place on Saturday 29 August, offering participants the chance to tackle either the 110km or 150km route through some of the most stunning scenery in the north-east of Scotland.
Starting and finishing at the magnificent Glamis Castle, the event is renowned for its challenging routes, breathtaking views and unforgettable atmosphere.
To encourage more people to get involved, Archway is offering free entry to those willing to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship.
However, anyone interested will need to act quickly as entries close on 1 July.
Janine Davies, Fundraising Manager at Archway, said: "Ride The North is a fantastic event and a real challenge, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Whether you're an experienced cyclist looking for your next adventure or someone wanting to push themselves and achieve something special, we'd love to hear from you.
"Every mile ridden and every pound raised will help make a real difference to the children, adults and families we support across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. So, if you've been thinking "I need a challenge" – this might just be it. But don't delay – entry closes on 1 July."
