UK top ten accountancy and business advisory group Azets has appointed Josh Creedy as a Tax Partner as it continues to expand its private client and SME tax services offerings.

Somerset-born Josh, a tax consultant with nearly a decade of experience at a ‘big four’ firm, will work mainly from Azets’ Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

It is the latest stage in a chartered accountancy and tax advisory career that has seen him spend the past two years as a Private Wealth Director at a fellow accounting and tax advisory firm in Edinburgh.

Among a range of tax matters at Azets, Josh will advise clients on inheritance and succession planning, plus property and business investments and disposals.

On his new role, Josh said: “I knew Azets has a great reputation in the OMB (owner-managed business), family-owned business and SME space and was looking to grow its private client offering in the market.

“The firm has made a series of astute senior hires across its technical specialisms and I’m keen to help bolster the already excellent private client offering.

“It does feel exciting, with the company continuing its growth trajectory and with its sights set on expanding further through M&A, organic growth and delivering insights through technology.”

Josh is set to work alongside senior colleagues including tax partners Mark Pryce in Glasgow and Edinburgh-based John Kean, and Azets’ Managing Director for Scotland, Greig McKnight.

Mark said: “Josh’s appointment complements our focus on specialist consultancy to support clients and help them navigate the complexities of the tax system.

“Josh is a highly experienced chartered accountant and tax adviser. He brings added skill, expertise and insight to our team at a time when businesses are facing heavier operational costs due to increases in employers’ national insurance, the National Living Wage, energy and fuel costs and global concerns over tariffs.

“Squeezed margins and challenges to investment decisions mean clients need professional tax advice more than ever.”

Josh’s hire also comes as the tax landscape for Azets’ core customer base of businesses and private clients becomes increasingly devolved to Holyrood.

On top of already Scotland-specific personal tax bands and stamp duty rules, April 2026 sees the replacement of the UK aggregates levy, affecting SME builders, developers and builders’ merchants, with a new Scottish Aggregates Tax.

Azets is a UK top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm, with its Scottish offices located in Aberdeen, Ayr, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perth.
