Local children’s charity, Befriend a Child are hosting their annual Christmas parties for the children they support this weekend and this year the parties are sponsored by local businesses Camm-Pro and Absoft.
“We are absolutely delighted that both Camm-Pro and Absoft have come on board as sponsors of our Christmas parties. It can be such a difficult time of the year for the children and families we support so we like to alleviate any stresses and pressures that we can and give the children something happy and fun to look forward to,”- Sarah Misra, CEO, Befriend a Child.
The Christmas party offers the opportunity for children and volunteers to come together and enjoy the season’s festivities and reflect on what a difference befriending and mentoring has made to their lives across the year.
This year the party will be bigger and better than ever with over 150 children and volunteers set to attend as well as a few Christmas elves. Hosted at The Aberdeen Altens Hotel the children are treated to Christmas dinner, festive party games, arts and crafts, disco dance and this year the older children will be taking part in a special Christmas themed Escape Game. The children will also be gifted presents by the Befriend a Child elves that were donated as part of the Befriend a Child Giving Tree Appeal by local businesses and members of the public.
“Our Christmas party provides children and volunteers with an opportunity to celebrate the season in a way they perhaps can’t in their home environment. We have been fortunate to have benefited from a number of companies support over the years and we are delighted to hear Camm-Pro and Absoft have joined the effort to turn frowns upside down for the children we support,” – Jean Gordon, head of operations, Befriend a Child.
The team at Befriend a Child would like to extend a very big thank you to Trustee Donna Liddle of Cammach Bryant who played an instrumental role in securing sponsorship of the party.
“We are pleased to be able to make a donation to local independent children’s charity, Befriend A Child. I hope the event is a success and that the kids who are all Aberdeen based, have a great Christmas party.” Simon McBain, director of Camm-Pro
