Bon Accord Aberdeen will be celebrating its 30th birthday on Saturday August 22. This year the centre will be doing a weekend of giveaways over on its social media pages to celebrate and asking followers to share their memories of the centre over the years.

Craig Stevenson, centre manager at Bon Accord said: “We are delighted to have reached this milestone in the history of Bon Accord. Whilst we would normally have a programme of events to celebrate, in light of the ongoing pandemic we have had to think a little differently about how we mark the occasion.

“This year we will be sharing some fantastic pictures from the Bon Accord archive and running exclusive competitions on our social media channels. We look forward to sharing memories of Bon Accord through the years.”

Bon Accord Aberdeen was opened in August 1990 by Her Majesty the Queen and has been in the heart of Aberdeen city since. Throughout the last 30 years, Bon Accord has continued to grow and develop, going on to host city-wide charity events such as Big Bounce @ Bon Accord and Aberdeen’s iconic rainbow steps.

The centre is currently home to Aberdeen’s largest Next, New Look and Boots as well as the city’s only Topshop and Topman standalone stores. It most recently added luxury beauty brand Space NK to its line-up.

Bon Accord will host three days of giveaways on social media between August 21-23, as well as sharing iconic images of Bon Accord in the past. To get involved, you can find Bon Accord on Facebook and Instagram @bonaccordaberdeen and on Twitter @bonaccordcentre. To find out more about Bon Accord Aberdeen, visit www.bonaccordaberdeen.com.
