BP has U-turned on plans to relocate its North Sea headquarters (NSHQ) on Wellheads Drive in Aberdeen.
The company announced it would downsize to a site in Dyce nearly three years ago.
The plan was to move into the smaller site, about half the size of the current NSHQ, by the end of 2021.
The decision came following BP's cutting 10,000 jobs, around 15% of its global workforce.
But it was revealed in the Press and Journal that the energy giant is no longer looking at a move from its current base to a smaller site in Dyce.
A spokesman for the company said: “BP can confirm it has agreed to remain in its current North Sea headquarters (NSHQ) and will not be moving to Aberdeen International Business Park (AIBP).
“Staying in NSHQ will provide us with flexibility and space as we work to become an integrated energy company.”
NSHQ is home to roughly 1,000 staff, around half of BP's UK workforce.
