Leading life of asset integrity service provider CAN Group has further strengthened its management team through a number of strategic promotions and role changes across its business.

These appointments come at a key time for the organisation as it continues to drive forward plans for growth both in the UK and internationally.

Engineering

Debbie McMurray has recently been appointed in to the newly created role of Engineering Manager at ENGTEQ, CAN Group’s Engineering business stream, following her previous position of Integrity Team Lead. This promotion will help to strengthen the company’s commitment of delivering the highest quality integrity management and engineering solutions.

With a career spanning over 15 years, all of which is in the asset integrity environment, Debbie’s technical ability and wealth of experience will be significantly important as she supports the future development of the business, new projects and the implementation of additional services.

Alongside being appointed as one of CAN Group’s Deputy Technical Managers under its UKAS Accreditation, Debbie will also assume responsibility for the delivery of a number of Integrity contracts, and importantly, will work closely with her peers on the operational side of the business to ensure that a well-focussed and consistent service continues to be delivered. This appointment strengthens CAN Group’s commitment to developing the next generation of engineers.

Digitalisation

Chris Pless steps in to the new role of Digital and Technology Solutions Manager to continue to lead the company’s digitalisation journey. Chris’ role is key to ensuring that the company continues to stay at the forefront of technology, assessing new technologies and working in conjunction with operations teams to optimise the implementation and providing support during the operational phase.

In his previous role as IT Manager, providing continuous IT support to CAN personnel both on and offshore, Chris has also been instrumental in supporting the development of a number of CAN Group’s digital solutions, including ENGAGE, its data intelligence solution that supports integrity needs across the full asset life cycle.

Having been with CAN Group for over ten years and with a vast knowledge of digital solutions, Chris will continue to manage the software development function within the business and act as the subject matter expert for the company’s digital applications.

Corporate Development

Miriam Lenehan moves in to the role of Corporate Development Manager, driving development opportunities for growth and future success.

Miriam’s role is key to identifying opportunities at an early stage and tracking and developing these, with collaboration at all levels within the organisation. Miriam will also focus on engagement with internal stakeholders to perform more rigorous (systemised and frequent) contract performance reviews; including involvement in Management of Change, and Performance Feedback.

Miriam has been part of the CAN team for nearly 20 years, most recently in the position of Tenders & Proposals Manager and holds a wealth of knowledge and experience across the business.

Group director Innes Walker, said “We are pleased to share the news about these recent changes within our business. These appointments are highly deserved and recognises the hard work, contribution and skill set of each individual and the value they bring to our business.
