Charity seeks daredevils for crane free fall

A North-east charity is encouraging daredevils to take part in a 100ft free fall from a crane to raise money for sick babies and children.

The Adrenalin Drop, which takes place at the AECC, will raise money for The ARCHIE Foundation and Friends of the Special Nursery.

Participants will strap into a harness and step off a platform, starting to free fall through the air before landing gently on the ground.

Katie Watters, head of fundraising at Friends of the Special Nursery, said: “This is a really exciting event for someone looking for a thrill and a bit of a challenge.

“Adults and children as young as 6 can take part, so it’s a great event for the whole family to get involved in.”

The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and funds specialist staff, advanced medical equipment and emergency grants to help children and their families during medical treatment.

Friends of the Special Nursery is the official charity of the Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and provides specialist equipment and items to support the families of babies who have been born too sick or too soon.

The Adrenalin Drop takes place on Saturday, May 19. Participants can register online now at: https://everydayhero.co.uk/event/adrenalin-drop
