Charity to walk 314 miles for disadvantaged individuals

The workers, volunteers and a couple of supporters of Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), an Aberdeen based charity and social enterprise, will participate in Kiltwalk Aberdeen on Sunday, June 2. The CFINE team will walk an aggregate 314 miles to raise funds and help the charity work towards tackling poverty in the North-east.

The walkers signed up for three different distances: 12 members will do 5 miles each, seven will take the 14-mile long ‘Big Stroll’ and six CFINE colleagues and supporters put their names down for the marathon-length – out of which two people will attempt to run it.

Dave Simmers, CFINE CEO, said: “On behalf of CFINE, I’d like to express my appreciation to all colleagues and supporters who are ready to go the extra mile to raise funds for the vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities CFINE supports.

“CFINE cannot operate without the generous contribution of our donors. If you are in a position to, please support the CFINE walking team by donating."

The demand for CFINE services in the community is increasing, therefore all means of support are highly needed for the charity, in order to maintain and further develop its areas of work. CFINE volunteers and workers are enthusiastic about facing the Kiltwalk challenge together, as a team, for a cause they truly believe in.
