The Tippling House completes a decade of cocktail service, having started in October 2010. Over the years, this intimate, subterranean cocktail bar on Aberdeen’s Belmont Street has become firmly established in the city, winning a number of awards and accolades, including ‘Mixologist of the Year’ in the SLTN industry awards and ‘Best Bar’ in the Aberdeen City & Shire Tourism Awards, to name but two. Inclusions in the likes of ‘Scotland The Best’ (12th edition) and ‘Hidden Scotland’ have only served to cement the reputation of the bar/restaurant as a destination for great food and drink in the city.

Founded in 2010 by events company 10 Dollar Shake, The Tippling House was inspired by port taverns of yesteryear, serving up an array of bar snacks and small plates, local craft beers, fine wines, whiskies from around the world and hand-crafted cocktails with boutique spirits and homemade ingredients. Aside from a new look in 2018, the venue’s offering has changed very little, proving that the original concept remains timeless.

To celebrate their 10th birthday, the venue team plan a series of events, tastings and takeovers in the months of October and November this year, with dates and tickets to be released very soon. During Aberdeen Cocktail Week, the venue has planned a bar takeover by world-famous Edinburgh bar Bramble as well as the official festival closing party, co-hosted with London-based Portobello Road Gin. Other initiatives in the pipeline include a bespoke whisky bottling, a ‘Meet the Maker’ wine dinner with a Sicilian wine producer, a seafood dinner with Harris Gin and an alumni gathering for past and present team members.
