A specialist coffee company has made a refreshing donation to support sick children in the North-east.

Caber Coffee will provide free tea, coffee and sugar to Tempo café in the city’s Bon Accord Centre, which donates all its profits to The ARCHIE Foundation.

The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and funds specialist staff, advanced medical equipment and emergency grants for patients and their families during hospital stays.

Caber Coffee, which is based on the city’s Holburn Street, is celebrating its 30th year in business in 2018.

Director Findlay Leask said: “We’re delighted that The ARCHIE Foundation has accepted our offer of supplying them with products throughout our 30th year and we hope this helps raise a significant sum of money for this fantastic cause.

“Tempo is a lovely space and an excellent concept, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping. Alongside our focus on supporting a number of local charities throughout our big birthday year, I’m over the moon that our coffee can be enjoyed at Tempo.”

Tempo is a unique city centre eatery where everything is free and patrons instead pay 10p per minute for their time. Proceeds from Tempo have been used to support The ARCHIE Foundation following the venue’s renovation in early February.

Innes Murray, director of fundraising at The ARCHIE Foundation, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be receiving support from Caber Coffee through the provision of tea, coffee and sugar at Tempo.

“This very generous donation of high quality drinks will allow even more of Tempo’s profits to go directly to supporting the work of The ARCHIE Foundation, supporting sick children across the Grampian region.”
