On Monday, November 8, ComCab have announced that they will be providing free taxis for Veterans to attend local services to commemorate Remembrance Sunday on November 14 in Aberdeen City.
It has been well documented how the taxi industry has been impacted since CV19, however Aberdeen based taxi operator, ComCab want to give something back to the people of the city who have helped support their drivers through what has been an extremely difficult period.
“Due to CV19 restrictions last year, many veterans did not have the opportunity to attend services at their local Cenotaph. This year, we want to offer veterans who don’t have access to transport, and live in the city region, the opportunity to attend their local service” said Scott Douglas, general manager of ComCab. “We want to reach out to our local community and offer our services free of charge, ensuring all veterans who want to go to their local Remembrance Sunday commemorations can go”.

How to apply for free travel for Veterans?
Applicants are being asked to email sdouglas@comcab-aberdeen.co.uk before midday on Friday, November 12 with their contact and address details. This will allow time for Scott and his team to manage and allocate drivers in advance. ComCab drivers will be paid for the journey by the company. Due to the logistics in arranging transport, and ensuring the company meet passenger demand, all bookings must be made before midday on Friday, November 12. Should demand for the free taxis for veterans exceed capacity, an announcement will be made on the company’s social media channels.
