Storm Floris is expected to cause widespread travel disruption as it sweeps across Scotland today with winds of up to 85mph.
An amber weather warning is in place for almost the whole of Scotland, with the Met Office warning the storm will bring "unseasonably strong and disruptive winds".
Train services across the country will be heavily impacted by the severe weather. ScotRail has already indicated it will implement a blanket 50mph speed restriction, with some routes closed all day and other closing from lunch time.
No rail replacement buses will operate.
CrossCountry trains indicated there would be no services running in Scotland today, warning the public: "Do not travel."
The weather and travel disruption has also cast doubt over weather Aberdeen FC's season opener at Tynecastle in Edinburgh will go ahead tonight.
Live updates on the storm and associated travel guidance can be found throughout the day on The Press and Journal website.
