Council marks Adoption Week with special recruitment event

Aberdeen City Council is marking Adoption Week Scotland with a special event aimed at people who have been thinking about adoption and want to find out more.

The early evening event takes place at the Westburn Centre, Westburn Road tomorrow Wednesday, November 20, between 5 - 6.30pm.

Attendees will be able to meet adoptive parents and ask council staff about the adoption process and the support that is provided.

Adoption Week Scotland aims to raise the profile of adoption in Scotland and inform the wider community about the process of adoption, the need to find families for children who are waiting, to share the experiences of children and families who are living their own personal adoption journeys, and to celebrate

Anyone who cannot make it along, but would like more information about adopting in Aberdeen can call 01224 694554, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm, or email adoptfostrecruitment@aberdeencity.gov.uk.
