Carole Bruce has been appointed as events sales manager for DC Thomson Media Events.
With this new role, Carole will focus on sponsorship deals with local organisations and hopes to broaden her contacts and build relationships with key stakeholders in the Aberdeen area.
Carole’s previous work includes Business Manager for the Royal Bank of Scotland, where she worked for over 25 years. She then went on to work for the St James’s Place Wealth Management in Aberdeen, as Business Developer before joining the events team at DC Thomson Media, based at the company’s Aberdeen offices in Marischal Square.
Speaking of the appointment Carole said, “I am thrilled to be in the role of Events Sales Manager for DC Thomson Media. This feels like a natural step with my experience of attending and organising events and I’m looking forward to this exciting new role.”
Carole’s first event has already taken place, The Courier Business Awards, which aimed to recognise and reward businesses and individuals from across Angus, Dundee, Fife and Perthshire. And with many more in the coming weeks, such as the inaugural Society Awards and The Press & Journal Energy Ball in November, Carole’s first month within the company has been a busy one.
“I’m excited to be working on upcoming Aberdeen events, which will focus on recognising the hard-working businesses within Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire’s retail, leisure, lifestyle, food, drink and tourism sectors. After all, they are what makes the north-east such a fantastic and vibrant place to work and live.”
