Glitter, sequins and flares will see guests stepping back in time for The Archie Foundation’s 2025 Disco Ball next month.
Partygoers at Aberdeen’s Chester Hotel will be transported through the decades with an array of disco hits from the 70s onwards.
Attendees will have the choice to either don their best disco fancy dress, or to get glammed up for the occasion, with a live DJ playing all the best disco floor fillers, a music performance from a special guest star and a live auction on the night.
The ball on Saturday, August 23 will help to mark The Archie Foundation’s 25th birthday this year, with all proceeds from the event going directly to help support babies, children and families across the North of Scotland.

Limited tables are still available, priced at £1,200 for 10 people, and sponsorship opportunities are also on offer.
Industrial services provider and long-time Archie supporter TEXO has once again signed up as the headline sponsor, while available options range from £1,500 for the Abba-solutely Amazing Auction or Razzle Dazzle Raffle packages to £7,500 for the VIP Dazzling Disco Diamond level.
Last year’s Glitter Ball, held in September, raised £40,167, helping The Archie Foundation to provide activities and support for more than 3,000 children and their families across Aberdeen and the North of Scotland.
Proceeds of £10,000 will pay for Archie’s Neonatal Counselling Service for a year; £5,000 will fund Archie’s Child Bereavement Service book gifting to families; £1,825 will fund a room in the Family Centre at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for three months, allowing parents to stay free of charge; and just £30 will fund a one-to-one session with the Archie play leader for inpatients.
Kelly M. Anderson, head of fundraising at The Archie Foundation, said: “We can’t wait to continue our birthday celebrations with a night of singing and dancing to groovy music from the 1970s and beyond! The Archie Ball is always a highlight for our calendar - not only because it is brilliant fun, but also as one of our most important fundraising events.
“The Archie Foundation provides help for so many children and families each year - from opening the doors of our Family Centre to allow parents to stay overnight with their children in hospital, to helping with vital financial support and equipment.
“We also offer bereavement services for children who have lost a loved one, giving them support and counselling at a time when they need it the most. We are so proud of our ability to react quickly to emergency needs, and we couldn't do this without the incredible donations we receive from our supporters such as our headline sponsor TEXO.
“This event is an amazing opportunity for us to raise money to support our services while getting dressed up for a fabulous night!”
This year’s ball organising committee includes Kelly as well as patron and illustrator Johanna Basford, Archie project co-ordinator Sarah Pirie, trustees Holly Milne and Irene Anderson, and mum Angela Tosh, whose daughter Georgia has been supported by Archie.
The Archie Foundation exists to transform experiences and outcomes in healthcare and bereavement for babies, children and families across North Scotland, including Aberdeen, Elgin, Inverness and Dundee.
The charity’s vision is that all children in the region will have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support, delivered in a child-appropriate environment and manner.
