Last year, Cairngorm Lodges and Bothies were delighted to succeed in winning the regional finals of the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourist Awards (ACSTA) and then going on to become finalists in the national Visit Scotland Thistle awards.

This year they are doubly delighted to not only be finalists again, in the ACSTA awards but also to be finalists in Scottish Land & Estates' “Helping it Happen” awards.

Last year, Cairngorm Lodges and Bothies won the “Working Together for Tourism” award which they were delighted about as it acknowledged their whole team. It recognised the collective efforts in terms of their customers, suppliers, contractors and their own team. Although it was not apparent in the title that the award had a particular reference to the team performance during those dark CV19 days which all but wiped out the tourist sector. Resilience and morale were certainly tested and built upon from that experience.

Cairngorm Lodges and Bothies Team are therefore delightful to again observe that the awards they are finalists for this year recognise the team, yet again. In both cases the awards recognise their team for their contribution towards sustainability and regenerative tourism.

Gordon Drummond, the Director of Cairngorm Lodges and Bothies said “We could not be prouder to be championing such a cause. Wish us luck with:

  • Aberdeen City and Shire Tourist Awards ACSTA – “Climate Action” Award
  • Scottish Land & Estates – Helping it happen – “Iver Salvesen award for combatting climate change” Award
