Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky produce special dram for Runrig Final Tour

The Scottish Celtic rock band Runrig are back for a final tour and they plan to mark it with a commemorative whisky for fans.

With a series of farewell concerts in 2018 entitled The Final Mile, the Runrig tour will culminate in August, with The Last Dance concert at Stirling City Park.

Over the years, they have partnered with in Huntly to produce several special bottles of whisky for different tours. It proved to be a massive hit with fans, selling out within days. Songwriter and percussionist Calum MacDonald said; “Producing a special whisky has proved very popular with our fans. Ever since we have announced our final tour and final concert, there has been a lot of interest in the whisky we would produce to mark the occasion. We were delighted to pick something that, like ourselves, had a long and interesting history. So, this final dram, had to be a Highland single malt. With music and whisky being Scotland’s greatest exports, they are the perfect partners to commemorate and celebrate such a journey.

Calum headed to Duncan Taylor’s headquarters in Huntly, Aberdeenshire to oversee the production of the last dram that will be distributed alongside their merchandise on their final tour. CEO of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, Moji Shand commented; “When Runrig announced they were pulling down the curtain on their 45 years in music, it was only apt that we would collaborate with them again on a ‘one for the road’ whisky. It’s been an honour to work with them and we wish the band and their tour all the best.”
The whisky is on sale at £69 from The Spirits Embassy website www.thespiritsembassy.com
