Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East is hosting a trio of free employer information events across Aberdeenshire aimed at helping organisations connect with their next generation of workers.
Over the coming weeks, the DYW North East team will visit Inverurie, Portlethen and Mintlaw. Those who attend will learn about the support that is available to them through DYW North East if they wish to engage with, or recruit, young people. The sessions will also touch on the Young Person’s Guarantee and how employers can use the Guarantee to plan and structure their activities with young people.
Margo Milne, Director, DYW North East said: “Several key industry sectors are facing a skills shortage. Engaging with young people at an early stage offers businesses the chance to build a pipeline of future talent. By partnering with schools, employers can also play an important part in preparing young people for the world of work.
“I would urge any business owner or company representative who is interested in finding out more to come along to one of our events. There are lots of different ways to support young people - our role is to help employers explore the options and find a fit that is right for them.”
The DYW North East roadshow includes events in:
• Inverurie (25 January)
• Portlethen (1 February)
• Mintlaw (22 February).
