Not content with being a multi-award winner, Entier’s Executive Chef, Ali Macsween has taken another giant leap forward in his culinary career as he is inducted into the prestigious institution of the Master Chefs of Great Britain.
A professional body of chefs, this exclusive institution hosts leaders in their field who work as Ambassadors for the association and promote the highest standard cuisine and working practices not only within their own companies and establishments but also assist in the training of the next generation of chefs in schools and colleges around the country.
A carefully selected number chosen following interviews and skills tests, there are only 150 Master Chefs currently inducted in the UK who work to promote the use of the finest food produce whilst embracing the very best that local suppliers have to offer – and Ali now joins this exclusive team of culinary masters.
Peter Bruce, CEO of Entier commented: “This is a thoroughly deserved accolade for Ali as he is an extremely talented and creative chef. The work that the Master Chefs of Great Britain do mirrors exactly the values our company has – from the finest produce we choose to use within our business to the local supply chain we insist on working with. Through this next level that Ali has achieved he will be able to continue our work in this area and help to promote the best that the local North-east larder has to offer”.
He continued, “Our work with our Fresh Olives apprentices is an important part of our business and this recent step in Ali’s career is proof that we have the right person in place to steer our culinary future and the next generation of talented chefs”.
George McIvor, National Chairman and Fellow of the Master Chefs of Great Britain added, “I have watched Alisdair’s culinary journey over many years with a keen interest. He is a shining beacon in the north east and the greatest example of where hard work and professionalism can take you. Ali is sheer inspiration to our chefs of the present and so hugely important to the young Fresh Olives of the future. Becoming a Master Chef of Great Britain is the pinnacle of a chef’s career and I look forward to working more closely with Ali in the months and years ahead promoting this wonderful hospitality industry of ours”.
