Aberdeen & Northern Marts, in conjunction with the Royal Northern Agricultural Society, has forward 90 pedigree bull and 60 commercial cattle entries for the Royal Northern Spring Show, taking place Wednesday, 28th February at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie.
The pedigree bull section will be judged by Alan Lawson, South Farm, Hallington, Newcastle on Tyne. Taking place from 8am to 11am, the pedigree bull show and sale will feature 12 Aberdeen Angus, 27 Charolais, 24 Limousin, 14 Simmental, 1 Hereford and 12 Saler entries.
Judging the 60 commercial cattle entries, which will occur following the shows and sales of bulls, will be Mark Harryman, Swainsea Barn Farm, Pickering.
John Angus, head of livestock at Aberdeen & Northern Marts, said: “The livestock sale element of the Spring Show is a fast-growing part of the event, and we are delighted to be working once again with the Royal Northern Agricultural Society. We will have a strong entry of pedigree bulls forward from noted North-east breeders, and top-quality show cattle suitable for further exhibition on offer. The Spring Show remains one of the best events in the North-east of Scotland to source top-quality livestock, with a record price set at last year’s event – £9,000 for a 10-month-old Limousin cross heifer, presented by J Robertson & Co, Newton of Logierait, Pitlochry.
“We invite everyone to come to Thainstone Centre for the chance to see and purchase some of the best livestock in the region.”
