Major financial restructuring at the University of Aberdeen has been approved by the university court, its highest governing body.
The new three-year financial plan will involve restructuring its 12 academic schools into four faculties, the BBC reports.
The changes are designed to boost performance and eliminate inefficiencies and duplication.
The four faculties will be arts and humanities; business, law and social sciences; medicine, health and life sciences; and science and engineering.
A university spokesperson said: "The new structure will better enable us to improve performance, increase efficiencies, remove duplication, and increase consistency to our processes and governance.
"We will now begin work to deliver these commitments."
