First Bus has announced the appointment of Ian Warr as the company’s new engineering director.
Ian, who began his new role on May 1, joined First Bus earlier this year supporting the mobilisation of operations following the First Bus contract win with its joint venture partners to provide bus services during the construction of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point in Somerset.
Commenting Giles Fearnley, managing director of First Bus, said: “Ian brings tremendous experience to the role and a fantastic track record. He will make a significant contribution to the business as we continue to put our customers at the heart of decision making and realise opportunities to improve our services.”
Speaking about his new role, Ian said: “I am delighted to be appointed as First Bus engineering director and look forward to working closely with both the Bus Executive and local operating companies in strengthening our customer centric strategic blueprint for bus engineering and safety across the Division.”
Prior to joining First Bus, Ian was regional engineering director for Arriva in London operating a fleet in excess of 2,000 buses. Ian’s career started as a Royal Air Force engineer and has included working with ComfortDelGro in both London and Australia.
